Dear Family, You know I love you, but I have been having a hard week. I'm not to sure how much I can write you today but we will see! I love you all and I want you to know that! I am still alive and I don't know if I will be transferred or not so we'll see. I am very excited for whatever is going to happen. I hope that I will find more patience than I have ever experience before. I have been growing from rough experiences with my companion and I am happy that I have met him. I am not happy because of the poor decisions that he is making. I hope that he grows up soon and realizes that he really is a missionary and that the Lord is requiring a lot more from him right now. I hope his next comp doesn't kill him. Dear Dad, You made it up Half Dome. CONGRATULATIONS! I made it up and down that thing to and let me tell you it wasn't fun until you get to the top. We started early and got to see the sunrise. We ate oat meal with a bunch of hippies with guitars that had also climbed up there. Don't worry about Bishop Wheeler, hes a Wheeler. There DNA is engineered for success. Just face it. I learned that lesson watching and learning from Jason. He was an all star! You should probably get out and ski with him. Then you can get your knees an legs up and running for our MARATHON!! WHOOO! We don't have to go fast. WE JUST HAVE TO FINISH IT! Then we can brag about it till we get old and die! BUT YA HALF DOME, GOOD JOB! Fun people you meet up there! I am glad everyone is back alive. I want to see some pictures guys! All that's on the blog right now is Devree's new apartment. I admire that you all went to half dome and back. This is Jayson Frasiers second time now! Last time I passed him up on the trail after the waterfall and he looked like death warmed over! This time he looked fresh and ready to go!!!! He' s a stud ya know? My Apprentice! SO being a District Leader is pretty cool. I could quite likely be a zone leader in the near future but will see. AP that's just CRAZY! I don't think president likes me that much. I'm a leader when I have to be because no one else will man up to the task. But that is very different that actually WANTING leadership opportunities. So whatevers. I will be fine. I only will have to endure a little longer then I shall be FREE! Ya I thought that my babysitting job was over. I thought that job was training me to have kids. Nope, it was training me to be companions with E. Magalong. I didn't see that one coming. The other night I got to play watch dog to make sure he didn't run away while I was sleeping. I stayed up until 11pm and then went to bed. He was still asleep when I woke up in the morning so I hope nothings wrong. O well. I will pray for you to get better and to fell better. Watch out with Vicadin Mom. After getting my wisdom teeth pulled out they stuck me on some crazy drugs. I though that Aunt Amanda's remote was a cosmic brownie and I almost took a bite out of it! Happy Fathers Day 2012

Hey Hamblin Family,
      So this week was AWESOME!!!! I had tons of fun! You guys sent a HUGE LETTER!!!!! I hope I can answer it to the best of my ability and time has to offer!
      Okay so here's the low down! MOM! Check out this scripture. Isaiah 5:20 Its about all them rotten Intermediate school punks! AND I GOT THE PACKAGE!!!!! Those Oreos are gone man. I loved it! I'm wearing a pair of them fancy socks as I am typing to you. I love it! Oh and I might wear the tie to Zone meeting if President Carlos doesn't show up!  HEY we did a Banana Tree CSP! WE cleaned up these banana trees cause they had dead leaves on them. WE chopped down a big one! It was awesome and we got a TON of Bananas. I think my shorts I got from my trainer got a little messed up! I'll try and send some pictures. I got a great video but its too big! I've got a friend who says that there is a free website called Flicker that may help us out. Go check it out when you have some free time.
            Bro. Uci the one that was having some troubles with his family. HE is going to be baptized on the 28th of July! If all goes well. HE is a stud and I wish him the best of luck. I hope I don't get transferred because I want to see this happen. I love this guy! Anyway. When I asked him if we would follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized he said OF COURSE! I want to know HOW! NOW we just have to help him stop smoking and drinking Iced tea! NO PROB! I love the gospel. It's good stuff. It helps change peoples lives. SO I also got a story about a weird area I had to go to to do a Baptismal Interview. It was in a Housing division called WONDERLAND! That's right I went to Wonderland on my mission. It was hilarious. Nothing weird there except the name that's it!

            HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!!! I love ya! I hope you loved your father's day gift. I hope that all is well with you. I hope that you are having a wonderful time being the tatay and holding the fort down. I miss all the jokes and good times with you pop. I miss all the good stuff! The Hiking trip to half dome sounds AWESOME and INTENSE! I hope nobody DIES! I think that you'll be alright. I hope you're still not training for Thanksgiving dinner! JK I love ya pops. Hey I heard ALL about Monty Paquio. And MAN the Philippines was in an uproar! I think they want a rematch. I got to see the whole thing while my comp watched it on youtube. It was pretty cool. I liked it! I don't know boxing doesn't really capture my interest. So I hope you remember that you're not some young spring chicken anymore pops. You got to have your fathers day nap ya know? ha ha :D I hope you are having a good time. I hope you aren't trying to burn the candle at both ends again. I love you pops. I hope you know that. I find myself expressing more love through my emails than I really did at home. It's amazing what you can take for granted. Your talk sounded awesome and I wish I could have been there.               I loved your surprise for Dad. CHRISTMAS IN JUNE!!! (With the help of a kind neighbor and brother in the ward, we put up 4 outlets under the roof line to plug in Christmas lights and a switch inside to just flip the lights on and off)  Why didn't I think of that! You really know us better than we know ourselves sometimes mom. Don't worry I am doing fine. I think we really are turning this companionship around and becoming a divine companionship. I loved the part about your tough companion. She sounds like an interesting case. I will endure to the end and things will be better because of it! I loved your 2 bits about Shannon's wedding. That's pretty funny! I think that she will have a good guy that will help her stay on track! She still loves animals right? At least like 15 dogs and cats. some mice and couple birds. It's like a ZOO over there most days! I love it. I'll never forget the Mcdo at 3 in the morning. Looking for egg shell colored paper for her 3rd wedding. while my parents are on a beach somewhere.                  I loved your bit about EFY! Your councilor sounded like the bomb! Did you all stay for ALL of EFY? JK I loved all the stuff! I won't forget the knife! I got one in sights. Anyways, I hope you are doing good with school now that you are all grown up now! Good luck at half dome dude. It really isn't that bad until the very end but when you climb up and reach the peak. I think that you will finally know why its all worth it. You will find all sorts of people up there. Old people and young people. People with guitars and other instruments. You'll have tons of fun! Don't go and give your parents a heart attack! They love ya and are doing fine with being parents but there is a reason why you have all those girls numbers. Your charisma levels are through the roof! You have a way with women and therefore Mom and Pop are going to keep an extra close eye on you. It may seem annoying but they are just trying to protect you. Thus your cell phone problem. Earn their trust by making good decisions. Then you shall obtain your cell phone after you prove that you are worthy and responsible enough for it! That's how old people work dude. You got to EARN the cell phone. Don't worry I believe in you!                  Your movie was Ever After!!!! I love it. It's such a chick flick but I love it and I always will! Okay here's my movie.
     "We're going to make PIZZA PLANTS!" or EVAAAAAA! Try that out! I hope you get it! Hey your job sounds pretty cool! I hope that it pays well and you get other stuff in there too! You will be making money in no time! I believe that! You are gonna get that license you are going to be a crazy independent woman when I get back with some dashing young man that is gonna treat you right! I believe in you Devrs. Even though I don't want you to grow up to fast I know that it's what you are gonna have to do while I'm gone so. I will pray for you and for Shay and for Dane to be all that you need to be. Devree's Graduation, June 10,2012

Hey Hamblin Family,
         Hows it going? I missed you all this week. I thought this week would be better. It wasn't. My companion thinks I'm a goody two shoes for trying to say companionship prayer morning and night. I don't think he likes it when I wake up at 6:30. It interrupts his guapo sleep! Ha! :D I miss you all THIIIIIIIIIIS MUCH! I really miss you when these annoying Philippina's are screaming while playing Tetris on Facebook right behind me.
            To make my week even more exciting, I am going to teach my District Zone Meeting then afterward the senior couples are going to introduce a new program called Companionship Language Study which is designed to teach our Filippino's how to speak English. :( you read his letter. You know what I'm about to go through. It's only 3 more weeks. I can make it.
           You know I had a thought the other day. It went something like this: "Thou are not yet as Job.... follow his example and endure it well!" "Thine afflictions shall be but a short time.....so SUCK IT UP!" I need to stop saying poor pitiful me. I'm sorry you don't need to hear this. But I don't want to lie to you all and say everything is all sunshine rainbows and baptisms. Missionary work is WORK! and I wouldn't have it any other way. I want to change and grow on my mission and if I have to do it the hard way, then so be it. As long as I learn the lesson well its fine with me. God knows what my personality needs and its all in his hands to develop my patience as much as he wants.
        So I do have a fun thing to write to you all! I went to Sister Narags house again to eat dinner. (I got fed the pig tongue there!) So this time We got FISH HEADS! But not just any fish heads. We got CATFISH HEADS! And the crazy thing is I ate ALL OF IT! Even down to the Eye balls! They were squishy and had a weird crunch at the end. I haven't died yet so I think I'll make it! Other than that I really don't want to talk about it because it will just make me sad. Really I want to forget it and move on so that is what we'll do. This week will definitely be better. I promise!
        So Mom,
              Thanks for the tuition update. Enough said! Mom you don't need to hint it to me anymore. I will definitely apply to the BYU's. But these are things we can talk about at Christmas Skype time!
             Uncle Monte is Crazy but he's smart too. I trust he won't push himself too hard. I love the bit about Dad and Manny going Sail boating. I got a video in my mind of Dad and Manny in a huge storm fighting to keep the sails up and Manny Saying, "Where's Noble when you need him?" Then it skips to a clip of me ironing my shirt in the Philippines. Ha I loved that!
           Hey I will pray for him and for Shay and for Issac. They all need our help. Help him feel the Spirit. Make sure he finds good friends. I have faith in him that he'll be fine. Love him. Be an example.
        You know I would have LOVED to go to those Graduation parties. I really wished that I could have been there for Devree's. It's gonna be hard when I see the pictures on the blog knowing I couldn't do anything to be there. It's rough ya know. Especially when the work is suffering from my comp's poor decisions. I am stuck right now until June 26th. I hope I can fix this but I don't know if I will be able to. Pray for me too. I need all the help I can get. At least the District is doing alright now. I don't have too many other problems with other companionships. I am learning charity and Patience right now and that's whats important. Mom, don't worry yourself too much about Your children. You have taught them correct principles now they must choose the right. Help them along the way. I love you. Elder Hamblin

                  I hope you get to go Sail Boating with Manny like he said and then send me some pictures! I miss all the fun times us three had together.
   HOW MANY TIMES will that demon child forget to shut off his alarm clock?! My room does sound pretty cool with the black lights and stuff. I hope that it's still there when I get home. I hope that I will get to see it! My brother is so cool.
       Hey good luck on the Law of Chasity lessons. You need not fear if you are prepared. I like that lesson and have learned it the hard way a couple of times! It's hilarious when Pres. Carlos comes for an unscheduled visit and the missionaries are not ready! I hear its Hilarious for the ones who are prepared! I hope That I am always prepared for that! I think that's a great lesson for us all to learn once in a while. Dad I love talking to you one on one ya know? The Dad and Mom Dates as a kid growing up. Going out for Ice Cream after Priesthood session. I think those discussions are the ones that stick with me the most. When I told........sorry just had to LBM in a public bathroom. NOT a fun experience. :(  When I told E. McGuffin about the YOU PEEP'D ON ME! Story we all laughed like crazy! We still quote it sometimes when we all go to the bathroom.
        I hope that I will get more quality in my emails to you all and not just rush through it. I want to get you some good stories that you can tell your friends. I hope to make some more positive strories here in the Cauayan Mission.

           TOP 10? Wow you are smart! Not like me though! I miss the good times in high school and the good things that I used to get to do! I hope to make some more awesome memories when I get home!                  I know you will read this sometime when You get home form EFY. I love you too even though you are busy dancing with women and havin fun with your friends in Utah. Hey Dad,

       Hey I just thought of an AMAZING IDEA! I want you to take as many videos as you can of people saying. HE'S BACK! I have an Idea of making a video when I return. Just get a lot of different cousins and such standing together then get them all to yell He's Back in unison. GET THE WHOLE FAMILY REUNION DOING THAT! Then save the videos onto my user account in the family computer. There it shall wait till I come home and make an awesome returning video! Thanks just had that Idea! 

       Anyways, I am glad to hear you are still doing good things continually. Bro. Glancy is the best ya know! He's the reason I can sing Vibrato now! He's as cool as old guys get! Thanks for helping him out, even though you probably kept him up all night! 

       The story of Chantelles Dad was alarming! I had the image of Wolverine Origins going on in my head. He see's the machine pouring the liquid onto the floor. He runs to hit the Emergency Shut Off Switch and slips in the liquid metal. The metal forms around his arm, his hand and part of his shoulder and neck. Screaming in pain and anger he struggles to his feet and presses onward and slams his metal fist through the saftey glass and grabs the switch.... It probably didn't happen like that but that's what we thought of. he he ;) Tell him I love him. Give him my best. 

        I love you. I love all that you do for me. I didn't get the chance to really say thanks for the advice. I used your advice coupled with the advice of my leaders. Things are better. We have our ups and downs but we'll make it through this thing. I really have gotten more patient and kind through these ordeals. I can wait longer for the things that I want and not get upset or frustrated. I really have grown because of my mission. 

        Hey your training for that marathon!? I have some serious training to do when I get home if we want to get serious about this marathon business. I got a belly to get rid of ya know?       Dear Mom,

              (Elder Hamblin shared some private frustrations) That's not the Lord's way nor my way and therefore I will lovingly wait for him. I've grown a lot ya know? You trying to substitute and things is rough. ESPECIALLY with the turrets kids. I guess you are learning patience too! It's an amazingly hard trait to develop but it is always worth it!

              Mom, you are doing a wonderful job as a mother you know that? You have my concerns, Dad's concerns, Devree's concerns, Shay's concerns and even little Dane's concerns to worry about. Not to mention YOU! You're always thinking about others and when you're concerned or worried you tend to turn those worries OUTWARD and help your fellow Sisters and Brethren. You have an attribute that I am trying to develop right now. You like to get things done. I like that! You compliment Dad's easy going life style very well. If it weren't for you we would not have been able to go on some of the trips we have gone on. I thank you for showing me how to make check lists and how to plan for the future and then follow through with those plans to make my dreams and goals a reality! It's really an amazing thing you know. I don't think you can be successful in this world without that heavenly trait! I'm just learning how to use it to its fullest potential. I really am sorry about the short emails sometimes. It's hard to focus when your companion is sighing over and over again right next to you. I really am a fast writer I'm just trying hard to get something meaningful to you through the emails. The last one was pretty short. Sorry. I am trying to be better at getting it done. I hope this weeks letter isn't lame. I really do love the updates you give me! 

          I love that Cinderella movie. The Rodgers and Hammerstiens version is pretty cool and has a BUNCH of different races in it! A White King and an African Queen gave birth to a very Asian looking prince.....strange. Oh well. I love that movie. The prince is having a ball!!!!! The prince is having a BALL!!!!! That's my favorite scene. Reminds me of Enchanted when they're in the park. Grandma always loves stuff like that. 7 Brides for 7 Brothers was a musical too! I love it! Anyways I got to email everyone else now so. I'll try and be better next time! Love ya Mom,   Elder Hamblin

         Dear Devree,

                 Hey bummer on the scholarships but you got a sweet dorm from the looks of it! I said, "DOES THE TV COME WITH THE ROOM?" You know me and technology! “Yea save the popcorn and not your lives!”  “Don’t touch anything and be careful where you step because there is still egg on the floor.” “Yea save the popcorn and not your lives!” are some of my favorite quotes form you ya know! You sure do deserve a full ride scholarship but I'm not in charge of that. I would have loved to be at your movie night. Even though it was all girls. I love movies. I love my family. 

               Your movie was Scooby Doo the 1st! Love it. "We're like 2 trippin peas in a far out pod man!" Okay here's my quote:

       " To infinity and BEYOND!" "Oh no It's SID!" "Oh he's no happy child!" THE CLAW"  THE BIG ONE" Try those on for size. 

               I love you little sister! I hope to go to college with you someday. We'll see where life's road takes me but I'll never forget my little sister. Be a good older sister for your bothers! I love you. Elder Hamblin 

 

             Dear Shay,

                      EFY, Oodles of noodles, and other fun stuff, you have been one busy guy! I am sending a package home but I don't know If I can find a knife. It's gonna be rough. I love you and I want to get you a knife, But it will probably be one coming form the side and not straight out. Not only can I NOT find any but they are SUPER NOT ALLOWED in America. SOOOO I'll just find you a cool knife and send it to you. 

               I'm fine and I'm trying to do my best to be a good missionary. I try and be the leader that they all need me to be. Sometimes I get stressed at my comp. BUT so is the life of a missionary sometimes. I see the joys of my investigators accepting the gospel and for all the success they see. I just do my best to serve the Lord. ya know missionary work. SO I love ya take care. Be a good example and tell me what your favorite scripture is. The Last Chapter of Ether is pretty cool check that out. alright love ya. Elder Hamblin.

      

              Dear Dane,

                   I am sorry about the big game loss. Don't get bummed.  We all let in a few goals sometimes. Being in the action was more of my thing. I love scoring. Work on your aim! Then get that big kick down. I still don't have a six pack yet but I am trimming down. The capture the flag game sounded like the BOMB! I am excited to get back and play those games with my brothers. I miss you all and the fun we've had. 

                   Don't get discouraged. Everybody has bummer games or seasons. I wish you the best of luck in your next game. LOVE YOUR BIG BRO,

    P.S.  I got a story.

          SO two missionaries come to a door in a new neighborhood. They knock and hear noises inside but no one comes to the door! So they decide to leave them a scripture. They write on a little card Rev. 3:20 and slide it under the door. Next day they come back and find the Card taped to the front of the door with the scripture Gen 3:10 on it. They open up the scriptures and find the scripture read it and laugh as they walk to their next appointment. Take a break. Read the Bible. Good stuff! Love you All!!!!
